Does the content of each test reflect the content of the real private school exams?
Yes. Our practice tests in English, Mathematics and Reasoning are prepared by examiners experienced in preparing entrance tests for Years 3–6 (ages 7–11) students. Our examiners have extensive experience working with major exam boards and private schools up and down the country.
Are Nova’s practice tests suitable for exam preparation?
Yes! Our Exam Prep packages are designed to help your child develop their confidence and ability in sitting for exams, navigating each of the papers and improving their time management during the exams. Our comprehensive tests are ideal preparation for selective school entrance exams.
How accurate are Nova’s practice tests?
Our tests for 7 Plus, 11 Plus and ISEB entrance (Years 3–6) mirror all aspects of the tests your child will take. This includes the curriculum, question types, timing and marking methodology. Our aim is to help your child prepare for every eventuality on exam day so that they are not surprised or caught out by the exam paper they are presented with. By continuing to practice our mock tests, your child will be well prepared on exam day.
How often should my child take a practice test?
Our tests provide an opportunity for summative assessment of your child’s progress in each particular subject. Tests should ideally be taken after a sustained period of study and as a means of taking a ‘snap shot’ of how well your child is progressing in each subject. Our curriculum designers recommend taking no more than two practice tests per week and spreading your child’s exam preparation over at least six months.
Do I need to help my child use Nova’s practice tests?
Parents and tutors should of course take an interest in their child’s progress when taking practice tests, but we have carefully designed our test platform to be accessible to your child and easy to use on their own. As a parent or tutor, you can monitor and check their progress from your Parent Portal.
How does Nova’s test algorithm work?
Our algorithm monitors very precisely your child’s performance on each test they take and the areas where they would benefit from additional practice in order to improve their test scores. As your child progresses from test to test, Nova is continually adapting the level and content of each test being delivered in order to maximize the level of challenge and motivation.

How many mock tests can my child access?
Your subscription will give your child access to unlimited mock tests during the period of subscription. They will see different test questions every time they take a test.

What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel your practice test subscription at any time. You will still be able to use all the features until the day before your subscription would normally renew.
When will my payment be taken?
Your first payment will be taken at the end of your two-day free trial. If you've chosen a monthly subscription, payment will be taken on this same date each month.
